French bassist Michel Alibo was born in 1959. He taught himself the bass and was then, with the help of Frank Curier (guitarist), very quickly confronted with the profession in its various aspects. Very versatile, he can play funk, jazz, that of African or Carribbean music. He accompanied Rido Bayonne, Manu Dibango, and was because of Eddy Louiss that he went on to meet Paco Sery and the other members of the jazz fusion group Sixun.
