Originally from Martinique and based in Paris, Xavier Belin has established himself as one of the rising figures of contemporary jazz.

In 2018, he formed his first quartet, Pitakpi, which unanimously won both the Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the prestigious Golden Jazz European Trophy 2019. In January 2021, he released his debut album, Xavier Belin – Pitakpi, which received widespread critical acclaim (JazzMag Revelation, TSF Jazz “Must”, France 2 Télématin Favorite, among others).

In 2022, he launched Pléonasme, a project dedicated to research, education, and performances centered on Creole music. Through this initiative, he has developed an extensive repertoire of more than one hundred works and collaborated with over thirty different musicians.

In January 2025, he continued his musical exploration with a second release, Crossing – Digressions, a duo project with saxophonist Baptiste Poulin (JazzMag CHOC Award, Jazz Migration 2025 finalist).

Renowned for his captivating piano playing, deeply influenced by Caribbean rhythms, and for compositions brimming with creativity and originality, Xavier Belin continues to attract an ever-growing audience.
