Beethova Obas had a happy childhood until the disappearance of his father, an engaged artist, which changed his life. Inspired by him, he turned to music after discovering a guitar in his father’s studio. In 1988, he won an American Airlines competition and received the RFI prize, launching his career. After his first album “Le chant de liberté,” success followed with collaborations and international tours. His unique style, blending Brazilian, Cuban, and Haitian influences, gave rise to “CUBHABRA.” He continued a career marked by socially conscious albums addressing issues such as injustice, the environment, and human dignity. Remaining true to his values, he pays tribute to his loved ones and continues to convey a message of hope and social awareness.
