Born in Reunion Island into a family passionate about music, Valérie grew up surrounded by the rhythms of maloya, sega and malbar drums, while exploring Caribbean music, jazz and pop from an early age. Graduated in musicology and from the Conservatoire National de Région de Bordeaux, she is building a solid musical career open to the world. Pianist, singer, arranger and composer, Valérie develops a unique artistic signature, at the crossroads of memory, identity and cultural mixing. His universe is distinguished by a deep authenticity and a rare ability to bring traditions into dialogue with contemporary forms.
She founded AKODA, with which she performed on national and international stages. She released two critically acclaimed albums: Muzik pou lo Kèr (2019) and Nout Souk (2022). Published on the Aztec Musiques label, these two opuses are widely distributed and playlisted on RFI, FIP, France Inter, France Musique and France Outre-mer, consolidating his reputation as a visionary artist.
