Fondation Haïti Jazz is a private non-profit organization based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Since 2008, it has been working to strengthen Haiti’s music industry by using jazz as an artistic, economic, and cultural lever.
Through its flagship PAPJAZZ – Port-au-Prince International Jazz Festival – as well as its professional programs and international collaborations, the Foundation serves as a platform for the development, evolution, and promotion of Kreyol Jazz in Haiti and abroad.
In 2025, following a sector-wide consultation bringing together artists, producers, journalists, and promoters, an executive committee was established to structure and position the “Kreyol Jazz” category as a strategic collective banner.
The committee is composed of:
Tony Chasseur (Martinique): songwriter, composer, singer, artistic and musical director.
Jonathan Chaste (Guadeloupe): entrepreneur, specialist in strategy and economic intelligence, founder of Jazz Créole Média & Jazz Créole Radio.
Alain Mercier (Haiti/Canada): live entertainment entrepreneur, artistic agent and radio host, founder of Divertissement Mercier.
Milena Sandler (Haiti/France): expert in cultural development, communication and international cooperation, Director of Fondation Haïti Jazz.
Harold Staco (Haiti/USA): founder of the Melody Makers label, live entertainment entrepreneur and record producer, and radio host on WDNA.
Joël Widmaier (Haiti): songwriter, composer, singer, musician, artistic and production director, sound engineer, President of Fondation Haïti Jazz and founder of the band Zèklè.
